Making Apologetics Relevant

We live in a world that has been saturated with non-Christian talking points—to the degree that they are blindly accepted without question.  We also live in a Biblically illiterate world that is negatively impacting the modern church.  Dr. William Lane Craig—arguably this generation’s most well-known Christian apologist and philosopher, makes this observation:

“One of the most dangerous threats to young Christians is an honest question left unanswered…I’ve had multiple friends tell me that their beliefs began to crumble when they voiced sincere questions to a pastor or family member and were essentially told, ‘You just need to have more faith.’….It’s not enough anymore to just read Bible stories to our kids.  They need doctrine, and they need apologetics.”

Today’s church desperately needs apologetics!

  • For too long the questions & doubts of Christians have not been systematically & intentionally addressed.
  • For too long doubts have been allowed to fester within the life of the everyday Christian—the result is that they embrace certain things as “true” while simply hoping that other stuff is “true”.  Too many Christians live a split-personality!
  • For too long we’ve asked Christians to share their faith with the unsaved & skeptical world without giving them the tools to answer the most basic of questions…no wonder the church is not evangelistic!
